Ruchi Singhal, Executive Director

Ruchi founded Nexus Energy Center in 2009 and serves as its Executive Director. Mrs. Singhal holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. After graduation, she worked for the state of North Carolina in various energy and air quality positions. She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and the Association of Energy Engineers Region II – 2014 Energy Manager of the Year. Mrs. Singhal has been successful in securing over $2.5 million to support Nexus projects since 2010.





Chad Wright, Programs Coordinator

Chad is an energy enthusiast who saw his first off-grid home in 2002. He holds a BA from the University of Alabama, a certification from The Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst, and a certification from NARS training center of Huntsville for HVAC. He is committed to promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy. Chad joined the Nexus Energy Center team as a volunteer in 2014 and then accepted a position on the full-time staff. Chad wears many hats here at Nexus. First he coordinates the educational programs, manages the Comfort project and the AlabamaWISE program which is a collaboration with ADECA and DOE. He also continues to develop the Tiny Green Home as a critical tool for the educational activities at Nexus. Lastly he coordinates the Lunch and Learn education series for Nexus fans and enthusiasts. He is also a US Navy veteran.





Keith Lowhorne, Development Officer

Keith brings to the Nexus Energy Center over 40 years of experience in the broadcasting business and non-profit organizations. Keith knows Alabama very well and has traveled extensively throughout, forming relationships with people who live and work in our communities. Keith has been heavily involved in local, state, and national non-profit boards throughout his career and wishes to continue that involvement with the Nexus Energy Center, helping to bring awareness and understanding of the importance of saving and conserving our natural resources for the generations to come.




Ioanna Fotopoulou, Brand & Communications Manager

Ioanna is an engineer with an MSc degree on Energy, a marketer and a social entrepreneur since 2008. For her initiatives she has been awarded by many international organisations like One Young World, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGIU), Social Impact Award and the US State Department – YTILI program. She served as the president of Rotaract Anatolia and the Engineering Department of her college. She has worked on communication and brand awareness in Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina with European Fund for the Balkans, in Brussels at the European Parliament, in Athens at the Greek ministry of Education and at Impact Hub Athens.
