Green Tie Bash on Alabama Public Radio

Nexus Energy Center Marketing Coordinator, Kristen Pepper, spoke with Alabama Public Radio about the 2015 Green Tie Bash honoring Champions of Energy.

Huntsville’s Nexus Energy Center is hosting an event to support local residents who save energy in their homes.

The Green Tie Bash will also benefit the Comfort Project. That’s a program that helps disabled, elderly or underserved residents save energy in their homes. Kristen Pepper is the Marketing Coordinator for Nexus Energy Center. She says the program makes home efficiency upgrades for local residents. The program implements energy saving efforts…

“Like isolation, weather stripping, things like that at no cost to the homeowners so that helps them save money on their utilities bills and in turn helps them have extra funds the months that they usually are in dire need of saving up for food, medication that they’re on, things like that.”

Pepper says funds are expected to increase compared to the previous year. The goal this year is to receive $10,000 in donations.
