DOE invests $19 million for energy efficiency

Great news for energy conservation!

The Energy Department’s Building Technologies Office announced that it is investing $19 million to improve the efficiency of our nation’s homes, offices, schools, hospitals, restaurants and stores.

According to the DOE, the energy that buildings consume accounts for more than 40% of the total energy demand of the USA. This energy consumption costs the nation approximately $430 billion each year. To make things worse, around 1/3 of this consumed energy (and of course money) is wasted.

With this $19 million investment the American public could save up to $80 billion per year on utility bills just by reducing the energy needs of our buildings only by 20%!

We, as Nexus Energy Center, are really passionate about initiatives towards energy conservation. At the end of the day, it is a huge issue, we need to talk about it, we need to identify it and to make it our common goal to reduce utilities and enhance energy conservation! Because it’s only through collective action and of course education that we can tackle such a big issue!
