The Renewable Energy Institute of North Alabama is a consortium of industry and educational partners. Providing quality training by local professionals trained and certified in renewable energy curriculum. The courses are designed to prepare participants for certification by national certifying boards. Drake State will also issue certificates of completion for each of these classes and provide information on careers in renewable energy in North Alabama. Read the Press Release.

- Geothermal Systems Installation and Maintenance
- Solar Photovoltaic Systems Installation and Maintenance
- Solar Thermal Systems
(Hot Water Heaters) - Installation and Maintenance
Trainees completing the Solar Thermal Installation and Maintenance Training will be prepared to take the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) Solar Thermal Installer Certification Exam. Trainees completing the Solar PV Installation and Maintenance Training will be prepared to take the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) PV Installer Certification examination. Training fees and certification examination fees are covered under the federal stimulus grant for individuals meeting the US Department of Labor requirements.
