DESCRIPTION: Thank you for joining us for our 5th annual Green Tie Bash 2018 presented by our Champion in Energy Five Stones Research Corporation who helped make it all possible and the best yet for our 5th year!\nPlease show them\, and ALL of the supporting organizations\, some love for their generous support to GTB 2018 by checking out their work\, send a message in thanks for their contribution and/or share their links! Again\, we couldn’t do this without the support from our community and individuals like you! \nWe are proud to have brought together such an amazing group of individuals\, businesses with keynote speaker Todd May in support of energy-efficiency and helping even more individuals through The Comfort Project! \nWe still have some more event pictures to add\, but GTB 2018 pictures are posted in our Facebook GTB 2018 photo album and on our website. Please ‘tag’ us in any great photos you have and use hashtag #GTB2018 \nWe always host GTB in the month of October as it is National Energy Awareness Month. So be sure to mark your calendars for GTB in October 2019! If you haven’t already done so\, go to our Facebook page\, click ‘Like’ and then click on the ‘Events’ tab and ‘Subscribe’ to our events. You’ll get a notification as soon as we add a new event! \nThank you again for being part of such a wonderful smart energy AL experience and making a difference in the lives of so many right here in our community. \nWe look forward to seeing you at another Nexus Energy Center and/or energy-efficiency community event soon! \n\nAbout GTB 2018: \nPresented by our Champion of Energy Five Stones Research Corporation\, Green Tie Bash 2018 will be a night honoring our Champions of Energy in Business\, in Contracting and at Home whom have demonstrated true dedication to saving energy in Alabama. \nGTB 2018 MC Tiffany Jordan \nWe invite everyone to dress to impress and show your support of energy-efficiency by wearing flairs of green! \nTiffany Jordan will emcee GTB 2018 and add a little extra ‘electricity’ to our smart energy focused event! Along with an awards ceremony\, guests will be able to participate in a silent auction\, enjoy live music\, a delicious dinner\, cash bar and hear from our Keynote Speaker Todd May\, VP of Space Strategy and former Director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center!Proceeds from the event will benefit 501 (c)(3) non-profit Nexus Energy Center and The Comfort Project.! This year\, we are hoping to raise even more funds to help even MORE people in need right here in our community! YOU could help us reach that goal by purchasing a ticket or becoming one of our corporate sponsors! Your support will help support our mission to build smart energy communities\, underscore the importance you and/or your organization places on a smart energy future for communities across Alabama and allow us to be able to even more underserved individuals within our community through The Comfort Project. \nGTB Keynote Speaker | Todd May \n“Space exploration requires a tremendous amount of energy not only in reaching space but sustaining man in space. I will share how energy technologies are determined appropriate for space as well how we are smart about deciding where power sources come from. In some regards\, we take more care about energy efficiency in space than here on Earth.” \nMay brings 28 years of expertise leading government initiatives and a broad range of engineering\, propulsion\, scientific\, and space transportation activities. A native of Fairhope\, Alabama\, May and his wife\, Kelly\, have four children and live in Huntsville. May holds a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University where he has been named a Distinguished Engineer. His many awards include: NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Medal\, the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive\, NASA’s Outstanding Leadership Medal\, the John W. Throughout his musical career\, he has been afforded the opportunity to open and play alongside many artist and many stages including Kim Burrell\, Layla Hathaway\, Noel Gourdin\, Eric Essix\, Marcus Anderson\, Kool and the gang\, and Maurette Brown Clark. Alex host a Christmas show every year\, also plays at weddings\, receptions\, parties\, and other events.
